SHREVEPORT, LA — The Shreveport Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in partnership with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) invites the community to its February Extend Your Day with the DDA event on Wednesday, February 11, at the historic Capri Theater. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 5:00 p.m.

This month’s program will feature an update on the Louisiana Percent for the Arts Program administered by Louisiana Division of the Arts, highlighting ongoing efforts to support public art and creative placemaking. The presentation will be followed by a Community Conversation and Open Forum focused on AI and the Arts, giving attendees an opportunity to share perspectives and discuss these emerging technologies in the creative industries.

“This month’s Extend Your Day with the DDA creates an opportunity for open dialogue and shared learning,” said Cedric B. Glover, Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority. “By bringing together artists, business leaders, and community members, we can explore how AI is influencing the creative economy while reinforcing our commitment to investing in downtown and the arts.”

“As technology continues to evolve, it’s important that artists have a space to share their perspectives, questions, and concerns,” said Rebecca Bonnevier, Executive Director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. “This conversation is about listening, learning, and ensuring the creative community has a voice in the ongoing discussion about the future and the arts.”

Extend Your Day with the DDA is open to the public and encourages participation from artists, business owners, residents, and anyone interested in the future of downtown Shreveport.
